I'll be driving back down to Chicago this afternoon. But first I will spend the morning helping my sister hang a retrospective exhibit of my mother's artwork. It will include some of her earliest paintings, done when I was a child, as well as her better known collages and watercolors. It will be held in the Stillwater Public Library, a few miles from where she grew up.
That's her 2004 watercolor, "You Are Made of Stardust," above. If you're in Minnesota during February, please stop by and check out the show. It will be up until February 27. There will be a public reception there February 14, 2:00-4:00. It will make a nice Valentine's Day party for her.
