It is, at long last, a lovely day here in Chicago -- sunny blue skies, temperature in the 50s. The Mrs. and I just returned from a long walk along Lake Michigan, mucking our way around the temporary great lakes formed by melting snow along the walkway. We're promised several days of above-freezing weather now. 'Bout time, too, I say.
I continue to mull over something I heard on the radio a couple weeks back. It was during the impeachment trial for Blagojevich. A Republican state legislator was interviewed and declared that our former governor had "lied without impunity." I'm still trying to figure out what that might possibly mean and whether it constitutes grounds for dismissal from office.
The Japan Times has a nice story today by Daniel Robson about the great rock band, Go!Go!71588. He interviews the band and reviews their newest album, Antenna. Robson's not terribly enthusiastic about this latest CD, writing that it's "bursting with energy, albeit not their best collection of songs," but he expects more great work from the band in the near future. They played a gig in Chicago a year or so ago, but I was out of town, unfortunately.
Finally, I continue to download my CD collection onto my new 120GB I-Pod. I'm up to 13,000 songs and still have a couple shelves to go. As always, the lure for undertaking this massive project is the fantastic belief that, once the music is all securely squared away into the little black box, I'll actually have the time to listen to it....
